I Leave One Month from Today!

I’m taking off for Tanzania on June 23 to go climb a little mountain called Kilimanjaro, so I can help take down an even bigger challenge: fighting against cancer, which 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will develop in his or her lifetime. Money donated to my climb benefits LIVESTRONG’s cancer programs and services—which aids fighters, survivors, and caregivers in making informed decisions about important obstacles, such as treatment, fertility, medical bills, and life after cancer.

I’m less than $780 away from meeting my $10,000 minimum fundraising requirement. Help me finish up my fundraising in time to go hike for a great cause! Click “donate” on the right side of the screen, or visit my personal fundraising page. And spread the word to anyone you think might be able to help—no donation is too small!

Why I Climb

On this Mother’s Day, I climb for my mom. My mom lost her brother to cancer when she was about 30 years old. At that time, she had four kids to keep her busy—including my twin sister and I, who had been born approximately 6 months before my uncle’s death. When I think of words like, “strong,” “caring,” “kind,” or “patient,” I think of my mom. Click the link above to read more tributes to awesome women. And to all the moms out there, have a Happy Mother’s Day!
